Seaguls hover in motionless rythm
Awaiting a morsel or two,
Pelicans look on with curious wonder,
Heads cocked at the sight of a few
Fish swim in pools of darkness protected by the rocks.
Sails dance in unison.
While yellow raincoats keep time at the docks.
A woman with a plastic bucket in hand,
Pants rolled high, barefoot
Searches for treasures forgotten in sand.
A wave white with frothy air rushes in
bekoning her attention
to the hunted treasures den
The woman steps closer, closer still,
to the place where her friend meets the sand.
Searching, the crest falls gently to her feet.
A pearl glistens, washed clean once again.
